I am an addict to betta breeding.
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, I started working remote and finally had time to setup a fish tank. It's all started with a beautiful blue butterfly from Petsmart. After few months, I remembered when I was a kid I used to breed betta, and hope that would be a fun project to do with my 3 years old daughter.
And I became addicted... if you don't believe me, try to breed a pair of betta and raise them up. The first spawn I spent hours watching them breeding, then twice a day feeding them, spent countless time on watching Youtube video, breeder group to learn taking care of them. And I've been an addict since.
Local pet shop doesn't carry a lot type of betta to satisfy my thirst, I started online, eBay. But finding perfect pairs are expensive, I started import betta oversea. First I imported 10 pairs, then 20 pairs, before I know it I start importing 100 pairs, and investing in few oversea farms so they could help me breed more quality and exotic betta.
Everyday it's the same routine. First thing I do when I wake up is feeding my betta frys, and another feeding after having my lunch. Water change, siphone every 2 days. Watching them grow, video, making tanks, jars. Take care sicks one, get them flaring practices, prepare for next breeding. Posting betta on website, ebay to find them good home. Almost I feel like it's a fulltime job.
It's been almost 2 years, but no end in sight, when do I stop? Have you tried breeding betta before? What is your experience, please share in the comment :D
