Christmas Moss (Vesicularia montagnei) is one of the most popular aquarium moss in the planted tank hobby. The plant is characterized by the fronds it grows which resemble a Christmas tree. Aquatic moss is often used to create cover for baby fish and shrimp to hide in and safely forage on the scraps of microorganisms the moss provides. Additionally, Christmas moss is used to wrap around aquascape objects like rock or driftwood to create a new unique look in a planted tank. To ensure your moss stays in place, use super glue or thread to safely attach it to something. Aquarium moss is a great beginner friendly plant and is an easy intro to keeping live aquatic plants.
