Subwassertang Pellia Moss
Product description
In this listing you will receive a golfball size portion of Subwassertang.
Subwassertang, also known as Round Pellia or Pellia Moss, is a unique aquatic plant that is relatively easy to care for. Here are some care tips:
-
Lighting: Subwassertang can thrive under low to moderate lighting conditions. It doesn't require intense light, making it suitable for tanks with lower lighting levels or where it might be shaded by other plants.
-
Water Parameters: This plant is adaptable to a wide range of water parameters. It can tolerate slightly acidic to slightly alkaline water with a pH ranging from 6.0 to 7.5. The temperature range should be around 68°F to 82°F (20°C to 28°C). Maintain good water quality with regular water changes and monitoring of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels.
-
Substrate: Subwassertang can be attached to various surfaces such as rocks, driftwood, or aquarium decorations using fishing line or glue. It can also be left floating in the aquarium. While it doesn't require nutrient-rich substrate, a nutrient-rich substrate can help promote its growth.
-
CO2 and Fertilization: CO2 injection and fertilization are not necessary for Subwassertang, but they can help promote faster growth and denser foliage. If you're keeping other plants in the tank that require CO2 and fertilization, Subwassertang will benefit from these supplements as well.
-
Water Flow: Subwassertang prefers gentle to moderate water flow. Too strong water flow may cause it to detach from surfaces or break apart. Ensure that there is sufficient water circulation in the tank without creating strong currents that might damage the plant.
-
Pruning: Regular pruning is not typically required for Subwassertang. However, you may need to trim it occasionally to prevent it from overcrowding other plants or areas of the aquarium.
-
Compatibility: Subwassertang is compatible with most freshwater aquarium fish and invertebrates. However, some fish species may nibble on it, so it's essential to observe how your tank inhabitants interact with the plant. Avoid keeping herbivorous species that are known to consume or uproot aquatic plants.
-
Propagation: Subwassertang can propagate by fragmentation. Simply break off a portion of the plant and attach it to a new surface, and it will continue to grow. Over time, it will spread and fill in the area where it's attached.
Overall, Subwassertang is a hardy and versatile plant that can thrive in various aquarium conditions. With proper care, it can add a unique and attractive element to your aquascape.
