How Shipping Works

See how live fish are conditioned, packed, scheduled, and delivered safely.

Order Processing

Each order requires at least 24 hours to prepare. Fish are briefly conditioned with no feeding before shipping to reduce waste during transit.

Careful Packing

Betta fish, guppies, and mollies are bagged individually. Boxes are fully insulated. Heat packs and cold packs are provided at no cost.

Safe Shipping Days

USPS Priority orders ship Monday or Tuesday. FedEx Overnight orders ship Monday through Wednesday. A tracking number is provided by email before shipping.

Delivery & Acclimation

USPS Priority transit is 2–5 business days and FedEx Overnight is next-day delivery. Please monitor delivery notifications and prepare for proper acclimation.

Safe to use when destination weather is in range 35°F to 90°F.

$19.99 FLAT RATE

Transit time: 2–5 business days.

Ships Monday or Tuesday only.

Live Arrival Guarantee applies only within the first 3 days from ship date.

FedEx Overnight Shipping

Recommended when destination weather is under 35°F or above 90°F.

$45 FLAT RATE

Transit time: Next-Day Delivery.

Ships Monday to Wednesday.

  • Please monitor tracking and delivery notifications.
  • Have your aquarium cycled, heated, and ready before arrival.
  • We may hold shipments if weather is unsafe.
  • Fish cannot be held for future shipment dates except weather-related delays.
  • Heat packs last around 72 hours, so delayed packages should be picked up promptly.
  • Once a package is dropped off, carrier delays and address changes must be handled directly with the carrier.

  • Most orders arrive Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Please monitor your tracking number and delivery notifications (email or text).
  • Have your aquarium cycled, heated, and ready before your fish arrives.
  • Fish may appear pale after shipping due to stress — this is normal.
  • They typically recover color within 24 hours in a proper environment.

  • We will hold shipments if weather is unsafe (too hot or too cold).
  • This is the only exception to our “no holding fish” policy.
  • Heat packs last ~72 hours; please pick up delayed packages promptly.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancel within 12 hours
    A 3% payment processing fee will be deducted.
  • Cancel after 12 hours for livestock orders
    A 30% restocking fee applies because live fish preparation requires time and labor.

Carrier Delays

Unfortunately, carrier delays do happen.

  • Once we drop off your package, we no longer have control over USPS or Fedex handling.
  • Please do not email us about carrier delays—we cannot offer any help.
  • If a delay occurs, we strongly recommend contact your local post office and asking for pick up your package.

Package Intercept / Hold for Pickup / Address Change

Once we dropped packages, we cannot request:

  • Package intercepts
  • Hold-for-pickup requests
  • Address changes
  • Delivery instructions

Customers must make these changes directly with the carrier by:

  • Logging into the USPS/UPS website, or
  • Calling their local Post Office
