Galaxy Rasboras (Celestial Pearl Danio) Care Guide

The Galaxy Rasbora, also known as the Celestial Pearl Danio (Danio margaritatus), is a beautiful and small freshwater fish originating from Myanmar. Here's a detailed guide on caring for these delicate fish:

    • Tank Size: 10 gallons minimum for a group of 6-8 fish.
    • Water Parameters:
      • Temperature: 72-79°F (22-26°C)
      • pH: 6.5-7.5
      • Soft water preferred (1-5 dKH).
    • Filtration: Gentle, like a sponge filter. Avoid strong currents.
    • Aquascaping: Plant-heavy with driftwood and rocks for hiding.
    • Lighting: Moderate to low to reduce stress.
    • Diet: Omnivorous, feeding on micro-pellets, flakes, and live food like brine shrimp and daphnia. Small meals twice daily.
    • Behavior: Peaceful, schooling fish. Ideal tank mates include small species like Chili Rasboras and shrimp.
    • Breeding: They scatter eggs in plants. Remove adults after spawning to protect eggs.
    • Lifespan: 3-5 years with good care.

Regular water changes and stable conditions are key to keeping them healthy.
